This video demonstrates the steps and criteria for high yield algae culturing. Tips for high yield growing: 1) Sufficient light is provided for the storage of algae 2) Optimum Temperature is provided for the storage of algae 3) Autoclaved Stock solution, media ( BBM, EG, ), trace element supplement are used to cultivate algae 4) Test the optimum ratio of media and water in a culture. Different strains have different sensitivity toward nutrient concentration. 5) Test the adaptability of algae in different concentration of CO2 and light intensity. Higher light intensity does not always result higher growth in certain kind of algae ( E.g. Euglena) 6) Color of cultures does not necessarily show the adaptability of the algae 7) OD measurement and microscopic examination can effectively monito...
Algae, just like other photosynthetic organisms, requires three things to grow: Water, light and nutrients. Obviously in an aquarium, reducing availability of water is impossible but we can limit the other factors contributing to algae growth. Generally when dealing with algae it’s not normally just one factor contributing to its’ spread, but a combination, identifying these factors and changing them will inhibit algae growth. Learn a new fast and easy way to end algae growth in your freshwater and saltwater aquarium. Algae is often caused from ambient and direct sunlight. Using everyday household products you will learn how to stop this annoying algae growth. Its easy and can be done in a few minutes. Join me in this fresh new video titled "Say goodbye to algae".
Algae can be turned into renewable biofuel, which is why scientists want to discover an inexpensive, fast-growing strain of a. lgae. Scientists at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory have developed a system to speed up this search. The unique climate-simulating system uses temperature controls and multi-colored LED lights to mimic the constantly changing conditions of an outdoor algae pond. By simulating outdoor climates inside the lab, the system saves researchers time and expense. In an age of continuous advancement and great innovations, renewable raw material become more and more important. One of these materials is the Algae. We use them in food, dietary supplements, cosmetics, water recovery and medicine. But how do you grow high-quality algae? A clean and easy method can be a glass photobioreactor. The centerpiece of such a system is glass tubing. This movie shows you the opportunities and benefits of using photobioreactors for cultivation of algae. http://microsites.schott.com/pbr/english/index.html?WTC=int_tubing_imagevideo_youtube_04-2017
Underwater footage shot near the spring head of Silver Springs in February of 2014. This video shows filamentous algae growing on aquatic plants in Silver Springs. The growth rate is unprecedented due to high nutrient levels such as nitrates in groundwater and can be detrimental to insects and snails. This junk shouldn't be growing here. We need to figure out how to limit the runoff that is ruining this spectacular water!

Excessive algae growth can lead to a release of toxins as well as taste and odour problems. Without treatment, the algae will grow more every year. Therefore, it is important to control algal blooms for a healthy ecosystem. For more information please visit: https://www.lgsonic.com
Yesterday I notice small green/brown circular spots over most of the sand. Today it has spread pretty good and became more like a blanket of algae. There are also algae formations on parts of the rocks. I also noticed today that there were many tiny air bubbles floating towards the top of the tank. After a closer look I could see tiny air bubbles attached to the algae on the sand only to be released later. I tested my water and here were the results Ammonia: 0.0 ppm Nitrite: 5 ppm Nitrate: ~50 ppm PH: 7.8 Based on these numbers I can see that I am through the beginning portion of the cycle and between the 2nd and 3rd. I plan on having coral and have read the PH will need to be at least 8.2. I'm not really sure how I'm going to get it that high without adding some type of chemical...

coralline algae growth - purple rock in aquarium. how to get coralline algae purple rock in your aquarium. www.rottertube.com coralline algae is the awesome purple you see on live rock in saltwater aquariums. calcium levels need to be 400 - 450. coralline algae needs calcium to thrive. make sure your magnesium levels are high enough as well. water parameters need to be very good for coralline algae to thrive. As with coral, coralline algae does not do well with phosphates or nitrates present. nitrates need to be no higher than 5. coralline algae will spread naturally but the best way being as you scrape it off your glass. the purple will float through your water column, setting itself to other rock. you will find, as it grows through your tank, purple on your snail shells, glass, and other...
http://www.purealgaegrowthsystems.com We’ve Created Algae Nirvana! Pure Algae Growth Systems is a better way to grow algae. The apparatus features a closed loop photo-bioreactor and innovative cross-flow filtration process designed for the purpose of growing selective monoculture algae in a safe, convenient and economical manner. The enclosed system protects agains predators and allows for harvesting on a continuous basis (day & night). Nutrient concentration, temperature and chemical levels are all optimized and controlled to create the ideal environment for the clean production of algal biomass.
YOUR DESCRIPTION HAS REACHED THE LIMIT OF CHARACTERS ALLOWED AND WAS CUT. BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (Josh Knight) -- While algae might be a nuisance in your fish tank, researchers think it might be part of the answer to slowing greenhouse gas emissions at power plants, and ultimately climate change. As global carbon dioxide levels continue to go up, more mandates are likely to come down and power plants need solutions. About half of the electricity produced in the United States is done at coal fire plants like the Duke Energy East Bend Station in Boone County. That process releases gas into the air and now it's being trapped and used to grow algae. Then the algae can be turned into other important things. "We've made jet fuel, we've made renewable diesel fuel," said Biofuels Research Engine...
